Larry Gene Moore transitioned from his earthly home to his eternal home on February 20, 2023 in New Roads, La. He was born on August 21, 1946, in Glen, Louisiana to his parents New James and Mary Emma Davis-Moore. Larry was baptized at an early age at St. Mark Baptist Church in Lakeland, La. He is a 1964 graduate of Rosenwald High School in New Roads, Louisiana. After graduating from Rosenwald High School, Larry was drafted in the United States Air Force and served his country for four years. While serving in the Air Force he went to technical school to become a Certified Aircraft Maintenance Technician. After mastering Aircraft Mechanic School, he was deployed to Thailand and Vietnam. During his deployment to Thailand and Vietnam, Larry spent countless hours maintaining and repairing hydraulic and other components of many aircraft damaged by gunfire. Shortly After his tour of duty in Thailand and Vietnam, Larry received an honorable discharge from the United States Air Force and moved back to his hometown of Glynn, La. He later met and married the love of his life Clara Bell Victorian. To this union two children were born Venessa L. Victorian and Tammy W. Victorian. Larry also gained two bonus children Mary B. Brown and Paul Ellis Brown. Larry wanted to continue his education so he enrolled and graduated from Memorial Area Vocational Technical Institute in New Roads, La. In 2008, Larry retired and spent most his time hanging with other veterans at McDonalds. He had an unquenchable thirst for knowledge so he would often spend his spare time researching topics of interest or reading the bible. Larry was never scared to take on new challenges and did everything with honesty and integrity. He had very strong values and was well liked by everyone, mostly due to his positive energy. Larry had incredible patience, and always made time to help others. He was known as a “jack of all trades” to many, and a hero to his children and grandchildren. Larry’s life, legacy and memories will be cherished by his three daughters Mary (Troy) Green of Katy, TX.; Venessa (Rev. Kenneth) Upshaw of Spring, TX; Tammy W. Louis of New Roads, La. Five Grandchildren Chemeka Brown; Tashawn Boyd; Delvin Louis, Rico Louis and Jaci Victorian. Nine great-grandchildren Zelliyah Brue, Zaeveyon Brue, Bradford Cador, Braedon Brown, Devon McQuirter, Reyghan Louis, Zaniyah Louis and Damaree Richardson and Makyla Richardson. Those also left with bereaved hearts are his siblings Barbara Jackson, Paul (Nora) Moore, Patricia Hebert (Ronald Johnson), Earlene Antoine all of Baton Rouge, La.; Richard (Effie) Moore of Harvey La.; James Michael (Carlette) Moore of Murrieta, Ca.; Wilmer Moore and Willie (Shirley) Moore of New Roads La. Also left to cherish his memories are his sisters- in- law Gloria V. Jones ; Mable Becnel; a brother- in -law Wallace Jones; Shirley Victorian, and Delores. A god-daughter Shalonda Esco, and a host of nieces, nephews, relative and friends. Larry was preceded in death by wife Clara Bell Victorian- Moore; Parents Mary Emma Moore and New James Moore; a son Paul Ellis Brown; a grand-daughter Natonya Croom, Father and Motherin- law, Severin and Mable Victorian; Sisters Priscilla Moore -Woods, Artemise Nelson, and Betty Duplache. Brothers Eugene and Hayward Moore; Maternal and Paternal grand-parents. 5 brothers- in- law Albert, James, August, William Victorian, and Lloyd Becnel. 4 sisters- in- law Bonnie Moore, Veronica Victorian, Geraldine Victorian, and Mary Lee Victorian.
