It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Marian Camille Vaccari-Walker, age 94, on June 15, 2024. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family in Sag Harbor, New York. Marian, affectionately known as Mimi, lived a life full of love and unwavering dedication to her children, grandchildren, extended family, caregivers, and friends. She was celebrated for her enthusiastic energy and passion for life.Born on May 27, 1930, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, to Jenny Romano and Joseph P. Maggio, Sr. Marian led a remarkable life. She was predeceased by her husbands, Lee N. Vaccari, and Captain Houston E. Walker. Marian is survived by her children: Christian (Patricia) Vaccari grandchildren Ashley, Victoria, John Charles, Gabriel, Nicholas, Daniel and Emerson, Jon (Steve) Vaccari, grandchildren, Gio and Mia and Nori (Andrea) Vaccari, grandchildren Ka and Logo. She also leaves behind five great-grandchildren, Orion, Ezra, Hank, Kaelo and Jack, her brother Donald (Patricia) Maggio, and numerous dear friends. Marian resided in Morgan City for over twentyfive years, then New Orleans for over forty-years before moving to Sag Harbor, NY where she spent the last five years of her life near her son, Jon, and his family. She was an active member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in New Orleans, and lifetime member and sponsor to the New Orleans AA community. The family will be forever grateful to the love and compassion provided by her caregivers Cathy and Cy. She loved them with all her heart. Her legacy of love and joy will continue to live on through her family and all who knew her. Funeral services were held at Holy Cross Catholic Church located at 2100 Cedar St. Morgan City, LA at 12 noon on, Saturday, June 22, 2024, followed by graveside services at Morgan City Cemetery located at 450 Myrtle St. Morgan City, LA In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made in Marian Vaccari-Walker’s name to Bridge House/Grace House, Attn: Kevin Gardere. 2150 Earhart Blvd. New Orleans, LA 70125.
