Oschner to hold clinic on athlete safety, injury

BATON ROUGE – The Ochsner Andrews Sports Medicine Institute will offer “Sideline Summer School,” a Baton Rouge program for helping coaches, athletic trainers and health-care providers improve the safety of student-athletes and recognize sports-related injuries.

The event is free for all attendees. The program is scheduled from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, Aug. 1, at Brown-Holt Theatre at The Dunham School, 11236 Roy Emerson Drive, Baton Rouge.

Onsite check-in begins at 7 a.m. Registration information is available at eventbrite.com.

A Pointe Coupee Parish shooter helped Louisiana finish second at the 2022 National 4-H Shooting Sports National Championships recently in Grand Island, Neb. Matthew Lorio also helped the Louisiana team win the team trap division championship.

Hornet golf coach returns

Recreation league crowns champions

More than 500 players on 39 teams took part in the Pointe Coupee Parks and Recreation Department’s 2022 season. According to parks Director Paul Armand, the season for baseball, softball, coaches pitch and T-ball ran for seven weeks and another two weeks for tournaments.
