I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.
A native of New Roads, La. and resident of Glynn, La., she passed away at her home on Friday, March 15, 2024 at 5:57 pm at the age of 83. She was a homemaker and found joy in cooking and caring for her family that she loved dearly. She spent lots of time in her yard where she loved working with her flowers and picking pecans. She also enjoyed her trips to the casino where she looked forward to listening to the music and playing the machines. She is survived by her daughters, Jamie Allement and Jenine Allement; sons, Gary P. Allement Jr. and wife Becky, Mark T. Allement; brothers, Gable Olinde, James Olinde; grandchildren, Drew Robertson, Kelsey Robertson, Lydia David and husband Bobby, Candice Allement and Shawn Bizette, Tre’ Allement and wife Mariah, Trevor Allement, Alaina Allement, Misti Vallet and Cory, Michael Jarreau Jr., Tessi Lorio and husband Dane, Robbie Adam Allement Jr. and Courtney, Thomas Allement and wife Jori, Brooke Major, Blane Major; great grandchildren, Charli David, Brody Allement, Madisyn Vallet, Jase Jarreau, Jase and Brynn Allement, Rylee Jo Allement, Anna and Maci Robertson; former daughter-in-law, Rockie Allement. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Gary P. Allement Sr.; sons, Lane Allement and Robbie A. Allement and wife Bridget, parents, Leo Olinde Sr. and Lydia Olinde Allement; sisters, Joyce, Helen and Marie; brothers, Bill, Lester, Gene, Clarence and Leo. A visitation was held at Niland’s Funeral Home in New Roads on Wednesday, March 20, 2024 from 8:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Lakeland at 12 noon. The interment followed in Chenal Cemetery. Pallbearers were her two sons Gary P. Allement Jr., Mark T. Allement and her six grandsons Drew Robertson, Robbie Adam Allement Jr., Tre’ Allement, Thomas Allement, Trevor Allement, Blane Major.
