On December 17, 1935, Geraldine Veronica was born to the late Isadore and Corrine Samuel (Kador) Cador. At 11:32 p.m. on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at the age of 88 at the Baton Rouge Health Care in Baker, Louisiana, Geraldine completed her earthly assignment and was rewarded with “A Job Well Done'. She was surrounded by family and friends as she peacefully entered eternal life. Jerry or Gerry, as she was affectionately known by her family and friends, was a native of Ventress and later moved to New Roads, LA. She was christened into the Catholic faith at an early age and received all the sacraments of the laity. She was a faithful member of St. Augustine Catholic Church until her death. She received all her education in the Pointe Coupee Parish School System. On December 13, 1954, Geraldine married the love of her life, the late Henry Belezaire, Sr. Together they were blessed with three children and one stepson. Throughout their life together they committed themselves to serving others in the community.
Geraldine was a loving wife, wonderful mother, and a great grandmother. She was soft-spoken, but had a firm hold when it came down to business and her family. She loved growing potted plants, entertaining, and cooking for others especially her famous Sweet Potato Yams. Her kind spirit and unconditional love touched the lives of so many and will always be cherished. Geraldine worked at Joan of Arc Potato Canning Factory in St. Francisville until its doors closed. She later went on to work at Rosenwald High School as a cafeteria worker and after her years of dedicated service she retired from the Pointe Coupee Parish School System in Food Service. Geraldine leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and cherished memories through her daughter, Mary Kathleen; two sons, Warren Anthony, amp; Henry Jr. (Monique); a stepson, Henry Jackson; one devoted and loving sister, Marie Joseph; seven grandchildren, Angela Nicole Kelly (Brandon), Jacien Belezaire (Raven), Jared Belezaire (Rhea), Adrina Belezaire, Cherry Rhymes, Dominique Belezaire, and Katrice Belezaire; nineteen great grandchildren; nine great-great grandchildren; seven Godchildren, Bernadette Lathan, Molly Jones, Sandra Aguillard, Sarah Joseph, Myra Lynn Lathan, Ja’Niyah Woods and Ja’Neyl Joseph; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Geraldine was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Belezaire, Sr., parents, Isadore and Corrine Samuel (Kador) Cador; a daughter in law, Lou Bertha E. Belezaire; five sisters, Ida Joseph, Georgiana Frederick, Lovenia Frederick, Velina Gremillion, and Mary “Big E” Dedrick; five brothers, Expert Kador, Walter Cador, Melvin Kador, Isaac Cador, and Robert Kador and a host of other relatives.Visitation at Verrette’s Pointe Coupee Funeral Home, 1018 Parent Street, New Roads, LA on Thursday, December 19, 2024, at 5:00 p.m. -7:00 p.m. Funeral Service, Friday, December 20, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Augustine Catholic Church, 809 New Roads Street, New Roads, LA with the visitation starting at 9:45 a.m. and the recitation of the rosary at 10:30 a.m.
