Clementine Perroux Bergeron, a resident of Livonia, Louisiana, passed away on Saturday, July 29, 2023 at the age of 97. Clementine was an educator in the Pointe Coupee School District for over 30 years. She served Louisiana children as a teacher, librarian, mentor, music minister and storyteller. After retiring, she loved volunteering at Valverda Elementary telling stories, playing her guitar, and singing with the students. Clementine was a devoted member of St. Francis Cabrini Catholic Church where she was a member of the choir and played the guitar. Every year, she looked forward to participating in the Livonia Mardi Gras parade and could be found dancing in the streets. Her other hobbies included reading, quilting, gardening and traveling. Clementine dearly loved her family and friends. She is survived by her daughter, Clare Bergeron Badeaux (Paul); daughter-inlaw, Danette Cavalier Bergeron; sister-in-law, Elaine Bergeron Simon (Edward); grandchildren, Seth Badeaux (Lauren), Garrett Badeaux, Dylan Bergeron (Baylee), and Bryce Bergeron; great grandchildren, Avery, Preston and Amelia Badeaux, and Charlotte and Caroline Bergeron. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years, Joseph M. “Buddy” Bergeron; son, Brett Andrew Bergeron; mother, Rita Langlois Perroux; sister, Antoinette Perroux Price; and brothers, Joseph W. Perroux and Valerian L. Perroux. Pallbearers were Paul, Seth and Garrett Badeaux, Dylan and Bryce Bergeron and Daniel Simon. Honorary pallbearers were Ben and Andrew Simon, John Fairchild and Troy LeBlanc. A visitation was held on Wednesday, August 2, 2023 at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church in Livonia from 9:30 a.m. until the mass of Christian burial at 11:00 a.m. The burial followed in the church cemetery. The family would like to extend a special thank you to all of her caregivers and the staff at Lakeview Manor Nursing Home.
