Bridget Jarreau Pena, 62, of Ventress, La., passed away on June 6, 2026.
Bridget has been with the love of her life Joe for 31 years. Her world revolved around her kids, and especially her grandchildren. She brought joy and happiness to all of her family. Bridget took pride and joy in taking care of the place her parents worked hard to build. Cutting the pecan orchard was one of Bridget’s favorite things to do. She loved to blare music and dance with Joe in the kitchen, cook for all of her family, and in the evening call her best friend Susan. Though we’re going to miss our mom, grandmother, wife, and friend we find peace in knowing she finally gets to rest. She leaves behind her loving husband Joe of 31yrs; her daughters, Megan Kirby (Anthony), Sophia Schubert (Adam), Vanessa Forrest (Joe); and her son, Manuel Pena. She was a proud and devoted grandmother to Allisyn Barbay, Brantley Kirby, Jace Barbay, Wilder Schubert, Nathan Forrest, Jeremiah Forrest, Luke Forrest, Serena Forrest, Oziah Forrest, and Selena Pena. Two aunts, Melissa Demars and Marilyn Coco: numerous sisters/brothers in law and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents Roy and Clara Jarreau; her maternal grandparents, Wilford and Margie Lemoine and paternal grandparents Nolan and Eve Jarreau; granddaughter Vivian: father/mother in law Serafine and Sophie Pena. Though our hearts are broken by her passing, we find comfort in the memories she leaves behind and the love she shared throughout her life. We would like to thank her doctors and nurses at The Lady of the Lake and the great staff at The Carpenter House. A visitation will be held at Niland’s Funeral Home in New Roads on Saturday, June 13, 2026 from 9 am until the religious service in the parlor at 11 am. The service will be conducted by Rev. Jason McNaughton and the burial will be held in the Morning Star Cemetery in Plaucheville, La.
