(2 Cor, 5:1-10) Gerald Cochran, better known to his family and friends as Jerry Boy and Pa, was called home on June 30th 2023. Pa was born to the late Ivy Cochran and the late Elma Callahan Cochran on January 7th 1940 in Elliot City, Louisiana. He and his family moved to the big town of Lottie when he was just a year old. He attended Simon Gumble Elementary in Lottie, where he met a few of his life long friends. Pa met his high-school sweet heart, Madeline Bergeron while attending Livonia High School. Madeline and Gerald were married August 24th 1963. Shortly after they were married they moved to Memphis,Tennessee where Pa learned how to grade lumber. They returned to Lottie and built their life. He worked as a finishing carpenter for Milton J. Womack. Pa was a hard working man. There was nothing that he could not fix or build. He enjoyed hunting and fishing in his younger years. He enjoyed country living and spending time with his family and cats. Gerald is survived by his wife of 59 years, Madeline Cochran. His daughter, Hydia Hurst. His son in law Michael Hurst. Grandchildren Sharai Neal and Husband Derek Neal, Madison Foreman and Husband Curry Foreman, and Bailey Hurst. Great Grand children Rowan Neal and Gracie Jane Foreman (due November 2023). Celebration of Pa’s Life was Monday July 3rd 2023 at Niland’s Funeral Home in Livonia, LA from 9am-11am. Graveside service followed at St. Frances Cabrini Cemetery. The family invited all of Pa’s friends and family to continue the celebration and share their favorite memories of Pa with us at the home of Hydia and Michael Hurst.
