With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Craig Anthony David, Sr., who peacefully departed this life on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at 6:47 p.m., at his residence in New Roads, Louisiana, at the age of 69.
A native of Pointe Coupee Parish and a lifelong resident of New Roads, Craig was a hardworking, humble, and devoted man who dedicated much of his life to serving both his community and the people of Louisiana. He faithfully served as a crossing guard at Livonia High School for five years and retired after 30 years of dedicated service with the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD). Through his unwavering work ethic, kindness, and dependability, Craig earned the admiration, respect, and friendship of countless individuals throughout the years.
Craig found joy in life's simple pleasures. He loved spending time outdoors, relaxing on his front porch in his favorite rocking chair, watching the cars pass by, riding around the parish taking in the sights and embracing the quiet peace of each day. Above all, his greatest joy was the time he shared with his beloved son, creating cherished memories and an unbreakable bond that will forever live on.
Craig will be remembered for his quiet strength, gentle spirit, and unwavering love for his family. He was a loving father, devoted brother, caring uncle, faithful friend, and a man whose life left a lasting impression on everyone blessed to know him.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories his beloved son, Craig Anthony David, Jr. ("CJ"); his loving siblings, Roger David, LouAnn Autin, Kenneth David, and Lester David; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever treasure his memory.
Craig was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Dalsey and Odile David; and his brothers, Dalsey David, Jr., Terry David, Robert David, and Joseph Ronald David, Sr.
Though our hearts are filled with sorrow, we find comfort in knowing that Craig's legacy of love, dedication, humility, and quiet strength will continue to live on through the many lives he touched. His memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Family and friends are warmly invited to gather in remembrance and celebration of Craig's life on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Niland's Funeral Home in New Roads, Louisiana.
