Deana was a native of Bordelonville, Louisiana, but moved to New Orleans in the late 1950's to live with her sister and graduated from Warren Easton in 1959. She worked for the telephone company before marrying her husband of 62 years, John L. David. They made their home and raised their family for almost 20 years in New Orleans and surrounding areas of Kenner and Metairie. In the late 1970's, they moved their family to Pointe Coupee Parish where they lived for the remainder of their lives, owning and operating grocery stores. Deana loved cooking, sewing, gardening, bowling, and dancing. In her later years, after her husband passed away in 2021, she mostly enjoyed watching old westerns and listening to country music. She served as a Eucharistic Minister and was on the Ladies Auxiliary at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Lakeland for many years. Deana loved her family and took every opportunity she could to spend time with them.
Deana is survived by her children, Darrell David (Glinda) and Lisa LeBlanc (Mike); grandchildren, Taylor LeBlanc, Jessica David, Lori Bueche, Brittni David, and Drake David (Casey); and five great grandchildren, Jayde, Camillia, Olivia, Macie, and Lindy. She is preceded in death by her husband, John Lloyd David; son, Chad Steven David; parents, Percy and Corine Bordelon; and siblings, Bernadine Desselle Bordelon, and Huron Francis Bordelon.
The family of Deana would like to extend a very special thank you to her caregivers, who were more like family than sitters, Ms. Delpha Goyne,
Ms. Glender Long, and Ms. Doris Holmes. They would also like to thank the staff at the Lacour House, Pointe Coupee General Hospital, and Pointe Coupee Home Health and Hospice for the compassion and care that was given to her over the last few years and weeks.
