“But the meek shall inherit the earth, and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.”

Psalm 37:11

On October 31st at the age of 71, David went to be with The Lord. He was a lifelong resident of New Roads and served over 30 faithful years to St. Mary’s Catholic Church of False River. He delighted in talking with people about family and always made the connection of who he knew, who was related, and never forgot a name. David also worked for the Pointe Coupee Banner for 5 years.

Matthew 25:21

He was a humble, but simple man who was never at a loss for words. Friendly to everyone he met and a man filled with faith. He will truly be missed by his family whom he loved so dearly. David is survived by his sister-in-law, Marian Olinde and his two nieces, Tonya Haydell (Craig) and Nona Beauvais (Jason). He also leaves behind his great niece and nephews, Devon Robillard (Tori), Reese Jarreau (Reagan), James “Deuce” Daniel (Hannah), Linden Haydell and Holden Haydell. Great-great niece and nephews, Gunner Robillard, Masyn Robillard, and Everett Daniel. He is preceded in death by his father, Willard Olinde Sr., his mother, Flora David Olinde, and his brother, Willie Olinde. As per David’s wishes, a memorial service will be held at Niland’s Funeral Home in New Roads on Thursday, November 7th, from 9am to 11:30am. David’s life will be celebrated with family and friends gathering to share in his remembrance. “His master replied, “Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things. I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your Master’s happiness!”
