David Wayne Jarreau, a resident of Morganza, La, passed away on July 5, 2026 at the age of 71. David worked for Big River Industries as an operator for many years before he retired. David also owned and operated, Jarreau’s and Sons, doing many different jobs such as carpentry work, plumbing and other handyman work. David was a member of the New Life Worship Center in New Roads. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family and grandchildren. David is survived by his wife of 29 years, Mary Bizette Jarreau; children, Christy Jarreau, Phillip Jarreau, Shannon Whitaker, Christy Whitaker, and Todd Whitaker; grandchildren, Harlee (Shaden), Megan (Patrick), Jerrica, Mariah (Carnellius), Olyvia, Alyssa, Phillip, Jr. “P.J.”, Brooklyn, Easlynn, Gracie, Tyler, McKinley, McKenzie, Trevor, Trenton, Braydon, and Brennan; great grandchildren, Jeremias “Booda”, Jernei, Jacei, Nevaeh, and Autumn; siblings, Lloyd Jarreau, Katherine Carmouche, Claude Jarreau, Iris Matherne, Chippy Jarreau, and Ronnie Jarreau; and numerous nieces, nephews, and loved ones. Preceded in death by her parents, Helen and Lloyd Jarreau; siblings, Johnny Jarreau and Raymond Jarreau; children, Timothy Jarreau and Bubba Whitaker; grandson, Nicholas Doucet; and son-in-law, Ronnie Boone. The visitation will be held at New Life Worship Church on Friday, July 10, 2026 from 9:00 am until the religious service begins at 11:00am. The burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jerrica, Todd, Phillip, Jeremias, and P.J. Honorary pallbearers will be Trenton, Trevor, Braydon and Brennan.
