They had two daughters, Shona Lynne McIntyre and Ainsley Jane McIntyre. In 1972 they immigrated to the United States. Relocating to Lompoc, California where family had already settled. They ran Lompoc Paper and Paint there for a few years before moving to Glendale, CA. It was there that they were divorced. Edith moved then to Solvang, CA with her daughters and worked at Sanchez and Sons Construction until she retired in 1993. After retirement, she lived in Phoenix, AZ for several years where she was active in Toastmasters and Scottish societies. Finally ending up in New Roads, LA where she moved to be closer to her daughter Ainsley. She lived there for the remainder of her life.

A memorial will be held at St. Paul’s Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in New Roads, LA on Sunday, April 12, 2026 after the regular Sunday service.
