Theresa Celeste Hebert Guidroz, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on June 28, 2025, at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She was 96 years old. Born on February 21, 1929, in Brusly, Louisiana, to Zenon Hebert and Eva Mae Lejeune Hebert, Celeste was a devoted homemaker in Baton Rouge and then, later Lakeland, Louisiana. After becoming a widow, she found great joy in time spent with her close-knit circle of friends — women who brought her laughter, companionship, and adventure. Celeste lived life to the fullest.

She had a lively spirit, a sharp wit, and a love for visiting casinos and enjoying the simple pleasures of life. Her warmth and humor made her a joy to be around, and her presence will be deeply missed. She is survived by her loving children: James R. “Jimmy” Guidroz Jr. and wife Linda Hernandez Guidroz of Zachary; Rhonda Guidroz Baronne and husband Frank Joseph Baronne III of Friendswood, TX; and Ricky Gerard Guidroz and wife Donna Rousseau Guidroz of Lakeland, LA. She also leaves behind three cherished grandchildren: Tracy Guidroz Achord of Zachary, LA; Lance Joseph Baronne of Cypress, TX; and Alicia Guidroz Cifreo of Lakeland, LA; as well as four greatgrandchildren: Reece Achord, Carson Cifreo, Camille Cifreo, and Levi Baronne. Celeste is also survived by her sister-in-law, Myra Guidroz Moniotte of Jarreau, LA, and numerous nieces and nephews who adored her. She was preceded in death by her parents; her devoted husband of 62 years, James Rudolph Guidroz Sr.; her five brothers—Milton, Bradford, Gerard, Nelson, and Albert Hebert; and her sisters, Eva Mae Hebert Didier and Janice Hebert Fabre. Pallbearers will be Reece Achord, Todd Achord, Lance Baronne, Matt Cifreo, Drew Bizette, and Mike Bonaventure. The family extends heartfelt thanks to Dr. Denzel Moraes and Dr. Andre Bonnecaze at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital, their compassionate staff, and Pinnacle Hospice for the attentive care provided to Celeste during her time there. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Lakeland, LA on Thursday, July 3. Visitation will be held from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m., followed by Mass at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Green Oaks Memorial Park in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Celeste’s legacy of love, laughter, and resilience will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. To honor her memory, the family kindly requests donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in place of flowers.
