Posted

I have fought a good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith, II Timothy: 4-7 A devoted wife, mother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother, She was born in Mix, La. on January 23, 1934 and died on November 21, 2022 at Pointe Coupee General Hospital In House Hospice, surrounded by her three children. She was a devout catholic. Before her health declined, she enjoyed cooking for her family, working side by side with her late husband on the farm, picking pecans with her motherin- law and sidekick Eunice Jarreau and tending to her yard and beautiful flowers. She had a green thumb and could make anything grow and took special pride in her beautiful hydrangea plants. She lost her angel 50 years ago when he was four years old. She and her late husband were able to live with the loss because of their great faith in God and the message of the cross that they would be reunited.

They spoke of him daily because he was a special child to everyone who knew him. Ting and her late husband were hard working simple people who thanked God every day for what they had and gave God the glory by thanking him daily. She is survived by her three children, Brenda Jarreau, Jo Anna Vallet (Rodney) and Junior Jarreau; grandchildren, Sonya Guedry, Melissa Rachel (Scott), Bryan Parent (Melissa), Alecia Cicero (Brian), Jeremy Vallet (Angela), Derek Jarreau (Mandy), Macon Jarreau (Anya); fifteen great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; one step great-great grandchild and expecting two more great great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Sharon Jarreau, Margie Morris (Glasscell); numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Henry Bill Jarreau; her beloved son, Michael Jarreau; parents, Oralie and Marie Robillard; five siblings and numerous nieces and nephews. A visitation was held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Lakeland on Saturday, November 26, 2022 from 9:30 am until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am. The interment followed at False River Memorial Park. Pallbearers were Bryan Parent, Jeremy Vallet, Derek Jarreau, Macon Jarreau, Dukie Jarreau and Brian Cicero.

Honorary pallbearers were her great grandsons. Special thanks to Council on Aging employees Beverly Martin and Mary Jones, Pointe Coupee Hospice, Pointe Coupee General Hospital and Staff, Father Chris Decker, Mike Hebert who would come to her house to style her hair, and the supporting prayers of our family and friends.
