John Randall Pourciau “Sassy”, passed away peacefully on Thursday May 7, 2026, at the age 63. He was born on November 1, 1962, and resided in Morganza. Sassy worked for Pourciau Oil Company Inc. alongside his dad and brother for many years, Pointe Coupee as Police Juror, a board member of Pointe Coupee General Health Service District, Pointe Coupee Sheriff’s office and a farmer for many years. His sense of duty and care for his community has left a lasting impact that will not be forgotten. Sassy had a deep love for the outdoors. He loved working in his garden, sharing his vegetables, coon hunting, fixing the broken, boiling crawfish to perfection at Hot Tails for many years, and spending time with his family and grandchildren. Sassy is survived by his daughters Fallon DuCote’ (Jason) and Mandy Landry (Beau); grandchildren Karson DuCote’ and Beau Landry Jr.; Mother of his children Dee Dee Clark; Siblings Jeralyn Ewing (Dan), Joni Russo (Vincent), Lori Pourciau, Charles B. “Brother” Pourciau Jr. (Brenda), brother in law Dukie Jarreau and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Preceded in death by his parents Charles B “Benny Boy” and Eva Pourciau, sister Dana Jarreau and nephew Daniel Lee “Tator” Ewing Jr. Sassy will be remembered for his strong will, generous spirit, and the laughter he brought into every room. A Celebration of Life will be held for family and close friends. The family extends our heartfelt gratitude to his special friend Rhonda Neal.
