Kauffman, Joy Bueche

Posted

Joy Bueche Kauffman, a native of Baton Rouge and longtime resident of Ventress, passed away at Pointe Coupee General Hospital in New Roads on Friday, December 1, 2023, at 12:20 a.m. at the age of 83. She was the most loving mother, grandmother, and greatgrandmother. She was a caregiver to many for most of her adult life. Reading books was a lifelong passion, but her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren are what she lived for. Family was everything to her. She was very close to her granddaughter, Amanda.

They had a very close and special relationship. Most Friday nights, you could find her at a Catholic High School of Pointe Coupee football game cheering them on from the fence. She is survived by her daughter, Katrina Bouquet Amacker, who took loving care of her until the end; sons, Reed Bueche, Jr. (Denise) and Kenneth Kauffman, Jr.; grandchildren, Jamie LeBlanc (Jaime), Randy Bouquet, Darren Bueche (Sarah), Amanda Bueche (Emily) and Trey Kauffman; six beautiful great-grandchildren that she loved dearly, Aiden LeBlanc, Kaden Jarreau, Kendall LeBlanc, Blaine LeBlanc, Blayr Bueche and Lyla Bueche; and her best friend and close companion, her dog Bailey. She is preceded in death by her first husband, Reed Buech, Sr.; second husband, Kenneth Kauffman; son-inlaw, Ron Amacker; parents, Earl Davis, Sr. and Marie S. Davis; stepmother, Leona K. Davis; brothers, Earl Davis, Jr., Stanley E. Davis, James H. Davis, Burnell M. Davis and sister, Mae D. Dedon.

We would like to thank Dr. Paul Rachal for all of the wonderful care over the years and for being there at the end when she needed him most. We would also like to thank the great nurses and doctors at Pointe Coupee General Hospital and Hospice.
