Augusta Mae Jeanpierre Ladmirault transitioned to her heavenly home on May 31, 2025. She was born on August 16, 1938, and was the youngest of five children of the late Gertrude Modeliste and Paul Jeanpierre, Sr. A lifelong resident of New Roads, Augusta was a devout member of St. Augustine Catholic Church. She graduated from New Roads High School in 1958 and later pursued higher education at Southern University in Baton Rouge, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education in 1964. Her passion for education led her to further her studies, obtaining a Master of Education in Elementary Education in 1974.
On November 20, 1969, Augusta married her partner, confidant, and beloved husband, Charles Ladmirault. Their union was blessed with one son, Reginald Ladmirault. Augusta was a devoted wife and mother, cherishing her family as the love of her life. Augusta had a successful career as an elementary school teacher for over 30 years. Early in her career, she began her student teaching at Upper Pointe Coupee Elementary. Most of her career was spent teaching 5th and 6th-grade students at Rosenwald and 2nd-grade students at Poydras Elementary schools. Augusta enjoyed serving her church and community. She served on many volunteer committees in Pointe Coupee and was recognized for her efforts. She was known throughout the community for her delicious meals and had a special talent for cooking great Louisiana dishes. She is survived by her husband, Charles Ladmirault; son, Reginald Ladmirault; sister-in-law, Eugenia Baranco; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gertrude Modeliste and Paul Jeanpierre, Sr.; brother, Paul Jeanpierre, Jr.; and sisters, Ora Lee Sneed, Sally Perkins, and Helen Sutton. Augusta’s beautiful life will forever be cherished in the hearts of those who loved her. Visiting at St. Augustine Catholic Church, 809 New Roads St., New Roads, LA, on Friday, June 6th, from 10 a.m. until recitation of the rosary at 10:20 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at the church at 11:00 a.m. Friday, with Father Joseph B. Benjamin, SSJ as celebrant. Interment in the St. Augustine church cemetery followed by repast in the church hall. Arrangements were made through Hall Davis amp; Son Funeral Services, New Roads.
