Janita Mary Landry, a native and resident of Morganza, La, passed away on April 8, 2025 at the age of 88. Janita was an active member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church where she also served on the bereavement committee and Catholic Daughter’s. After Janita moved to Florida, she became a member of The Incarnation Catholic Church and Grace Family Church Beautiful Ladies Bible Study. She was devoted to her faith and prayed her rosary daily. Janita enjoyed spending time visiting her family and loved ones. She would often tell stories of her times growing up and memories she had made with her family and friends.
Janita was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many. Janita is survived by her children, Theresa Marie Laird (John), Jeffrey Peter Curley (Patience) and Charles Rodney Curley (Tami); grandchildren, Christopher DeBoer, Jason Curley (Jesseca), Ryan Curley, Mark Curley (Val), and Johnny Laird Jr.; great grandchildren, Abigail, Ivan, Gavin, and Emersyn; and her brother, Raymond Landry (Lynne). She is preceded in death by her son, Mitchell Wade Curley; parents, Clothilde and Albert Landry Sr.; sister, Doris Ramagos; brothers, Irvin, Norman, Ned, Steve, and A.J. Landry. The visitation was held at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Morganza, La on Saturday, April 12, 2025 from 8:00 a.m. until the Mass of Christian burial at 9:00 a.m. The burial followed in the church cemetery.
