Psalm 23: 4,6 On Wednesday, June 28, 2023, David Anthony Leonard, Sr; son of Norman and Jean Leonard, Sr; loving husband, father, and grandfather, passed away at the age of 76. Born in Massachusetts, he was raised in Batchelor, Louisiana where he met the love of his life and wife of 55 years, Lougenia Ann Leonard. He proudly served his country as a Sergeant in the US Marine Corp in the 26th Battalion during the Vietnam War, where he was awarded 2 Purple Hearts. He was one of the last Dairy Farmers in Pointe Coupee Parish, and eventually became a deputy with the Pointe Coupee Sheriff's office where he served his community for 36 years with various ranks. He ended his watch as a Lieutenant on the very day he passed away. He is survived by his wife Lougenia, sons David Anthony Leonard,Jr (Michelle), Michael Scott Leonard (Carrie). And 6 grandchildren of whom he was so proud. David Anthony Leonard,III (Tomi), Brody Joseph Leonard, Skyla Michelle Leonard, Benjamin Nash Leonoperas, ard, Beau Wilson Leonard, and Braxton Jack Leonard. Also his 4 siblings Norman Joseph Leonard, Jr (Judy), Maryann Dunham (Billy), Marguerite Rusk (Truman), Helen Marie Ducote (Warren). A Memorial Service was held on Monday, July 3 at St. Vincent De Paul in Innis, Louisiana. Visitation was observed from 9am-11am followed by a mass at 11am. In Lieu of Flowers the family asks that those who are able make a donation to St Jude Children's Research Hospital or a Charity of their choice.
