Anthony Joseph “Tony” Lewis was born July 23 , 1960, to the late Celestine and Mary Lee Lewis. He departed this life on Sunday, July 24 , 2022, at 12:07 p.m. Tony was baptized at an early age at Zion Travelers Baptist Church where he served as a faithful member and deacon until his death. In 2008 Tony married his loving wife Karen Lewis and they shared 14 wonderful years together. Tony was employed by Pointe Coupee Parish Government and was an energetic, hardworking, and trustworthy employee of the Parks and Recreation department. He also worked for several years in the upholstery business and later became a professional tax preparer who served many people locally and in surrounding cities. He always sought out ways to expand his services and had recently became a certified medical biller and coder and for several years served as a Justice of the Peace. Tony enjoyed spending time with his family and was an avid cook and musician who was always willing to share a meal and a melody with family and friends. Tony leaves to cherish his legacy his loving wife Karen Lewis, sons Anthony Joseph Brue of Broussard, La., Idrakery Lewis (Angela) of Denham Springs, La., Andre Slaughter and Cody Slaughter of New Roads, La. Daughter Mary Lewis of New Roads, La., and two children that he helped rear Robin Williams (Robin) and Leroy Harrison. One loving niece Latasha Johnigan (Cleotha). Tony was proceeded in death by his parents Celestine and Mary Lee Lewis, two sisters, Elaine Lewis, Paula Lewis, and one brother Charles Lewis. Maternal grandparents Isal II and Annie D. Nelson and paternal grandparents Eddie and Benolia Lewis.
