A native of Innis, La. passed away Sunday, February 22, 2026 at Pointe Coupee General Hospital. He was 90 years old and a U.S. Army Veteran. He held many jobs in his life but the most people knew him as a teacher of electronics at the Trade School in New Roads. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, JoAnn Rogers Moore; a daughter, Melinda LaGrone (Dale); a son, Launce Moore (Laina); Grandchildren, Ashton Smith (Scott), Meggie LaGrone, Aaron LaGrone (Marie), Maria Devereux (Joseph), Julie LaGrone, Denton Joel LaGrone (Victoria), Jordan Moore (Madison), Mallorie Moore Ducote (Gage); fifteen great grandchildren with sixteen and seventeen on the way; two brothers, Ben and Lester Moore; sister, Jewel Ann LaCour. He is preceded in death by his parents, Launce Moore and Viola G. Moore; brothers, Tilghman, Whitley and Milton Moore. A visitation will be held at Niland’s Funeral Home in New Roads on Wednesday, February 25, 2026 from 9 am until 11:45 am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in New Roads at 12 noon. The interment will follow at Latanache Cemetery in Batchelor followed by a gathering at Latanache Baptist Church Hall.
