I have fought the good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge shall give me at that day, and not to me only but unto all them also that love his appearing.

Our beloved husband, Daddy, Grandfather & brother lost his battle with cancer after a courageous fight. He was a kind and gentle soul, that only saw the best in everyone. He retired from Asbestos Workers Local 53 at the young age of 42. He then went to work for the Pointe Coupee Sheriff ’s Department, serving as Warden for many years, retiring as a Captain. Will served four active years in the National Guard and two inactive years. He is survived by his loving wife Kimberly, his children Mandy (David), and Kevin; grandson Bradley (Addie); great-grandchildren Maddyn and Briggs; siblings Barbara (Gilbert), Brenda (Jimmy), Peggy, Beverly, Jeff (Darlene), Randy and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his son Shane; his parents Mary Agnes and Wilford Porche, Sr.; grandparents Alberice and Noelia Porche, Lelio and Ida Mix. Visitation was held Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at St. Mary’s of False River at 10:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christen Burial at noon by Fr. Chris Decker. Honorary pallbearers were Gilbert Eaves, Logan Thomas, Albert Labatut, Barry Labatut. Pallbearers were Jeff Porche, Randy Porche, Kevin Porche, Bradley Amond, David Reeves and Jimmy Robillard. The family would like to give special thanks to Pointe Coupee Home Health & Hospice. Also to Dr. Andrew Lauve, Dr. Christopher McCanless and Dr. Donald Doucet. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
