Kathryn Major Robillard November 5, 1953 – December 28, 2023 My body and my heart fail, but God is my heart’s rock and my share forever.
(Psalm
73:26)
Raised in Pointe Coupee and a resident of Morganza, Lou-isiana, Kathy passed with her children at her side. A faithful wife, mother, and grandmother, she enjoyed spending time with loved ones and preparing wholeheartedly for her family gatherings. She was a devoted spouse for nearly fifty years to Roy Joseph Robillard, and a loving mother to three children and six grandchildren. A graduate of False River Academy, and member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church, Kathy served as a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, Court Isabella, #809. While deeply caring for her own family, Kathy was a “nanny” to many children throughout her twenty-fiveyear tenure as secretary for Catholic of Pointe Coupee Elementary School. There she received The Carlos G. Spaht Brotherhood/Sisterhood Award. Kathy was a friend to many and will be missed by all whose lives she touched so endearingly. She was preceded in death by her parents, James Dudley and Elsie Major, her sister, Elizabeth Melancon, and her brother James Dudley “Butch” Major, Jr. She is survived by her husband, two sons and one daughter and their spouses: Matt and Bene’ Robillard, Jonathan and Melanie Robillard, and Matthew and Mary Kathryn Wiggins. She never missed an event, and celebrated her life with six grandchildren: Charles, Chelsea, Lila, Ruby, Jack and Rose. She is also survived by her sister, Judith Gremillion. Her presence, laughter and kindness will be greatly missed by many. Charles Robillard, James Wesley Major, Brandon Melancon, Marcus Melancon, Chayse Melancon, and Lyndon Gremillion will serve as pallbearers. Visitation was held at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, Morganza, Louisiana, on Tuesday January 2, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. A Catholic mass was officiated by Father Babu Nalkara Vareeth with burial at the St. Ann Catholic Church cemetery.
