“Well done My good and faithful servant. Since you were faithful in small matters, I will give you great responsibilities. Come and share your master’s joy.”

Matthew 25:23 On August 28, 1929 God gave this world a precious gift with the birth of Reverend Monsignor Allen Roy and on September 5, 2025 God called him home at the age of 96. Msgr. Roy was the first of four sons born to Allen J. Roy, Sr. and Lucille Plauche Roy of Hamburg, LA in Avoyelles parish. As a young child his family moved to and settled in New Roads, LA. He attended St. Joseph Academy in New Roads where his faith was formed and his calling to be a Roman Catholic priest began. He attended St. Joseph Seminary College in St. Benedict, LA and Notre Dame seminary in New Orleans and was ordained to the priesthood on June 5, 1954 at St. Louis Cathedral. He served as Assistant Pastor at Our Lady Star of the Sea Church in New Orleans, Our Lady of the Rosary Church in New Orleans and Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Violet, LA where he also served as pastor.
