Susie David Spencer, a native and resident of New Roads, La passed away on July 1, 2026 at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital at the age of 76. Susie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed spending her time with her family and loved ones. Known to be the heart of the family, Susie was the anchor for her immediate and extended family. Susie had a heart of gold, adored children and will always be remembered for her compassion towards others and her loved ones. She was the best mom a man could have. Susie is survived by her children, William Edward Spencer. Jr, Markkevin Spencer (Julie), and Ron David Spencer; siblings, Lester David (Kim), Peggy Morel (John), and Judy Fabre (Mark); grandchildren, Sabrina Spencer(Kim), Hayden Spencer (Miracle), Devin Spencer( Mariah), Grant Spencer, Alex Spencer, Calli Phillips and Bryce Phillips; and a great grandson, Rowan Spencer. Preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, William “Bill” Spencer; parents, Ida and Clarence David; brother, Leo “LJ” David; sister, Patsy David; grandparents, Ludovic and Louise David, and Henry and Rosalie Jarreau; and nephew, Lance Morel. Visitation was held at Niland’s Funeral Home in New Roads, La. on Monday, July 6, 2026 from 9:00 a.m. until the religious service at 11:00 a.m. The burial followed in False River Memorial Park.
