Toxie William Craft, Jr., age 89, passed away on April 27, 2026, at Our Lady of Lake Regional Medical Center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, after a brief illness. He was born on September 20, 1936, in New Iberia, Louisiana, to Toxie W. Craft, Sr. and Nina Smith Craft. Toxie was a graduate of Catholic High School of Baton Rouge, Class of 1955. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Louisiana State University in 1962. He was an engineer in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, with the firm of Craft Civil Engineering for over 50 years. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Jimmy Lee Craft, nee Burnett. He is survived by his fourteen first cousins, numerous second cousins, and his devoted friends, Joe Shows of Lakeland, Louisiana, Danielle Burlette, and Allan Marbury. Toxie was a longtime member of Immaculate Conception Catholic church in Lakeland, Louisiana. He was an avid outdoorsman and a longtime member of the Lottie Wildlife Protection Association. He was a lifelong bodybuilder and also had a gift for music and art, particularly painting. The visitation will be held on Friday, May 1, 2026 at Niland’s Funeral Home in Livonia, La from 10:00 am until 12:00 noon. The funeral service will begin at 12:00 noon with the burial to immediately follow in Immaculate Heart of Mary Cemetery in Maringouin, Louisiana.Pallbearers will be Joe Shows, William Fairchild, Allan Marbury, Ed Guidroz, George Troxell and Philip Bruce Eckert, Jr.
