A native of Oakdale, La. and longtime resident of Livonia, La., she passed away on Monday, January 12, 2026 at the LaCour House in New Roads. Sherian was always smiling, laughing and filled with joy. She never met a stranger and always lived life to the fullest. She enjoyed traveling and dining out with friends and family. She was 77 years old and was retired from the Pointe Coupee Parish School Board where she drove a school bus. Sherian is survived by her husband, Ronnie Pouricau; sons, Mark Tarver and wife Miriam, Ron Pourciau and wife Chrystal; grandchildren, Sarah, Clayton, Caroline and Gabriel; aunt, Patsy Daniels Fontenot; a special friend that was like a sister, Linda Aguillard and special friends Nancy and Joe David Odom and Leo Doyle. She is preceded in death by her parents, Russell and Betty Jean Daniels Strother; brother, Rusty Strother; sister, Debbie Strother; nephew, Marlon Pourciau. A visitation will be held at Niland’s Funeral Home, 3508 La Hwy 78 Livonia, La. on Wednesday, January 14, 2026 from 8 am until the religious service in the funeral home parlor at 11 am. The burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Clayton Pourciau, Don Sonnier, Lester “Doon” Jarreau, Vince Hawkins, Gabriel Kimble and Joey Kent. Honorary pallbearers will be Rhett Pourciau, Seth Ducote. Special thanks to caregiver Coleen Singleton.
