Market on the Mill draws shoppers

The 2024 Spring Market at the Mill drew another large crowd to the Cottonseed Mill, where shoppers from throughout the region bought items ranging from artwork and furniture to cooking supplies and food. Nearly 150 vendors particpated in the event, which will return in November for its holiday edition. ACLU launches new blog on immigration holding centers

NEW ORLEANS — As part of its ongoing Immigrant Rights Project (IRP), the ACLU of Louisiana has launched a new monthly blog series about immigration detention in Louisiana. The blog series will tell the stories of individuals in nearly a dozen rural detention centers and document insights and experiences from its trips to these facilities.
