Judge declares “hung jury” in trial for accused murderer of Trey Allen

Body

The trial for the 17-year-old man accused with the murder of a popular Livonia youth baseball coach ended in a hung jury after nearly eight hours of deliberation Thursday at West Baton Rouge Parish Courthouse in Port Allen.

Lurry ended the trial after one member of the 12-person jury held out on the second-degree murder charge for Ronald Campbell and instead sought a conviction of manslaughter for the Sept.18, 2021 slaying of Trey Allen outside RAXX Bar & Gril in Erwinville.
