BEDTIME STORIES LEAD TO NOVELS ... Catholic-PC junior publishes first 'coming of age novel'

When Rachael Bergeron was young, her bedtime routine was a little different.

“I would come up with ideas for stories and I would tell my mom and dad. I would tell the bedtime stories,” she said.

Coming up with her own stories and “writing ever since I was little,” has led the high school junior to publish her first novel, “Where the Tide Leads Us.”

Pointe Coupee Parish School District receives LDE funds to harden campus entry

Pointe Coupee Parish will be included in the Louisiana Department of Education's investment of over $20 million to harden the perimeters of schools across the state.

The Louisiana Board of Elementary and Secondary Education (BESE) last week approved the LDOE’s Stronger Connections Grant program allocations to 39 traditional public and public charter systems. The funds will be used to keep students and teachers safe by reinforcing single-points of entry.
