As the sun rose through the clouds, Heaven gained a beautiful angel. Grace Marie Chustz Lanoha passed away peacefully on October 26, 2026, at her mountain home in Hot Springs, Arkansas surrounded by her immediate family. She was 67 years old and a native of Jarreau, Louisiana.

Grace was an adoring wife, loving mother and grandmother, and a cherished friend to so many. She possessed a heart of gold, and a personality that could brighten any space. She never met a stranger and had a special way of making everyone feel welcome and loved. Her love for her family and watching her grandchildren grow ran deep, and she held close the people who meant the most to her.

Grace is survived by her beloved husband of 34 years, Jim Lanoha; her two children, Toby Callegan (Kim) and Hanna Chustz; and her stepson, Jason Lanoha (Kalli). She also leaves behind six cherished grandchildren: Paige and Myles Callegan, Rylan Stancliff, and Riggs, Blakely, and Presley Lanoha, along with many beloved extended family members and dear friends who will forever hold her memory close. Grace is preceded in death by her parents Preston Chustz and Flossie Olinde Chustz, and brother, Greg Chustz.

Grace dedicated 20 years of service to the Pointe Coupee Parish Sheriff’s Office as a civil deputy before retiring and embarking on a second career in real estate, before her final retirement.

She found joy in the beauty of the beach, relaxing at her vacation homes in Hot Springs, Arkansas and Fort Morgan, Alabama, as well as her dream home on False River in Jarreau, Louisiana. She embraced every opportunity for adventure and had a passion for drag racing, cars, music, drawing, and painting. Grace lived life with a spirit that was unmistakably her own.

The family extends its heartfelt gratitude to Genesis Cancer and Blood Institute and LifeTouch Hospice in Hot Springs, Arkansas for their guidance, kindness, and compassionate care. They would also like to thank Grace’s wonderful family and friends for the outpouring of love, support, and prayers throughout her illness.

In accordance with Grace’s wishes, she has been cremated. Visitation will be held from 9:00 am - 11:00 am (immediate family 8:30 am) with a Memorial Mass following at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Lakeland, Louisiana on Friday, November 6, 2026. Interment of her urn will follow at Chenal Cemetery Mausoleum in Chenal, Louisiana, where she will be laid to rest with her beloved parents. At 2:00 pm, a celebration of life will be held at Jim’s Bar and Grill in Ventress, Louisiana.

Though her time here has come to an end, Grace’s beautiful memories will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Her laughter and her unmistakable way of making life a little more colorful will never be forgotten.
